Sightseeing Armstrong & Wildflowers
Another one of our must stop locations in the Okanagan is the city of Armstrong. We love going to The Village Cheese Company, or as we like to call it, Armstrong Cheese Factory. This time around, we explored the city of Armstrong a little bit more, popping in and out of antique shops, and just wandering around looking at the old buildings. I loved antique shopping and even found an old book to use as a photo prop for some still life photography.
The highlight of the day was when I was framing up to take the shot of the general store (pictured above). We had just walked across the street to keep looking at shops when I decided to take a photo of the general store. I was just about to press the shutter when I spotted the blue car driving up and was praying it would park in front of the store, because what else would make a better film photo?! Anyways, my prayers were answered because the car couldn’t have parked in a better location for the shot! The only thing I wish was different is that I hadn’t realized the aperture ring on my film camera moved, so the photo came out pretty grainy and underexposed. Check out my instagram here to see the iPhone vs. film photo.
Once we got back home from our adventure, we spent the evening having dinner and relaxing. We went to the lodge up by the cabins we were staying at to read and watch the sunset, and I ended up making a wildflower bouquet as well (put my floristry training to work).
Check out my post about our evening at the drive-in here.
