Apples & Honey

Every summer when we would go to Vernon, we always had a few go-to stops, including Davison Orchards and Planet Bee, and this past summer was no different.

Our first stop of the day was Davison Orchards. We took a walk through the fruit market, gift shop, and bakery, finding some goodies along the way, including a really cute bee mug for myself and some fun waterbottle stickers. After shopping, we decided to grab a bite to eat at The Davison Farmhouse Cafe; I had some homemade tomato soup, as well as one of THE BEST chai lattes I’ve ever had! I am quite the chai fanatic, so this latte definitely took first place on my list of delicious places to order chais from. After lunch, we strolled up to the petting zoo and play area, where I took the truck and tire swing photos, which are some of my favourite captures from the summer.

Our next stop of the day was Planet Bee. If you are looking for some scrumptious honey and loads of variety, Planet Bee is definitely the place for you. Not only do they sell honey and flavoured honey, they also sell candles, mead, and beauty and health products. I personally have tried their all-natural Bee Clear Acne Gel and it works wonders! We of course bought some honey while there, as well as I purchased three different summer teas, including a lime mojito one. Tea and honey is the perfect pairing in my opinion:)

The last location we visited was a new one to my family and I. Previously known as the BX Press Cidery, the Cambium Cider Co. is a family run apple orchard and farm-to-table restaurant. When we visited in the summer, the venue was fairly new and still on the smaller side, but the atmosphere was wonderful, and you can even dine among the rows of the orchard under the apple trees! With local produce, thirst-quenching ciders, apple trees all around, and a stage for live music, I anticipate a return to the Cambium Cider Co. in the future. Fun fact: Cambium is the living layer between roots and leaves in trees that plays an important role in propagating apple trees to new varieties, and forms a tree’s growth rings.
